I don't normally post review scores but according to a poster on NeoGAF, the May issue of EDGE contains a Mario Kart Wii review giving it a score of 6. A few other interesting games also seem to be reviewed. For reference, the last Mario Kart on the Gamecube got a 5.

Even if you haven't been on the receiving end of a blue shell before, the extensive multiplayer options, deeply integrated online functionality, multitude of controller schemes available, and simple gameplay make this latest Mario Kart great fun and quite possibly the most accessible one ever.

Well, despite a few minor flaws - most notably the failure that is offline Battle mode - the sheer quality of this latest Mario Kart installment pretty much sits it right alongside the near-faultless SNES original. Despite initial fears, this is proper Mario Kart, and it's Mario Kart done right. It's fast, it's fun and still one of the best party games ever created.

There are lots of of evidence that "you can go into a shop and buy a Wii" in April. Lots of people said that shipment during MK Wii launch period is the biggest ever, even compared to SSBB launch. Only Christmas 07 shipment is bigger than MK Wii period shipment.
Remember the Toy's R Us article ?
Remember the new 24 (or 25) million Wii sales prediction by Nintendo for FY 08 (Apr 08 - Mar 09) ? Which implied higher production capacity, which may start on summer, but may also start April 1, 2008.

It is just that I am the play-safe type of investor. Any sign of possibility of losing money can easily scare me away :) (like I did with MK Wii).
If the actual # is 1 Million, you stood to gain 20% of 12 Million = 2.4 Million. Very nice profit :).

SMG did 500k first week, yes I used that sentence and all others about MK Wii (Selling good but not crazy, is the tenor of all "retail posters"). That all is just poor evidence for anything. It is about what? 3 or 4 shops? Nothing I would bet my life on, sure. But since you posted it I posted what it implies to me, not that I would go 100% on that impressions ;)

So hang on, you really believe Nintendo can up Wii production to supply the US with 250K units per week?
If there was an increase in weekly shipments of that order of magnitude there would be more evidence of it IMO. Stockpiling for Wii Fit on the other hand I can absolutely see going on.

Where did you read 500-800K ?
Are you referring to the sentence "Mario Kart has been selling very steady. Not a huge rush like Smash Bros though. Seems about on par with Galaxy's sales" which mean 1.4 Million (SMG sales # for Dec) for 4 weeks, or 500 - 800K for one week ?
I don't think you should use this post as benchmark for prediction, since he also posted "360 sales have been dead. I did not sell a single 360 on the 29th.", which definitely is not NORMAL.

Well it is big enough so I can't invest more (33% seems to be the barrier). Don't mind on that short on Wii. It is really not more than play money, following a little lead I had a long time ago. But that didn't work out as it seems. But I personal think the price is in the right "range" right now, and well, since it is only play money.

Well, IMO, 12 Million for you is big, but not too big.
I think you should be more concerned with your Wii April short, especially if it is also 12 Million worth.
One of my source told me that Wii April can hit 800K - 1 Million, and I have 10% of my networth invested in this on long. If it really hit 800 - 1 Million, I stood to gain a significant profit.
This source has been proven right before (several times), so I hope it will also be right again (I didn't believe it on previous occasion).
