LittleBigPlanet has been delayed worldwide for an unspecified amount of time as confirmed by Sony. Originally expected to launch next week, consumers may need to wait until mid-November. Some retailers are listing November 14th as the new release date. Two small extracts from the Qur'an mixed with music into one of the background tracks are the cause.

IGN Review 9.5

A massive game, one that is essentially 2 parts intertwined so well they're practically inseparable. A brilliant platformer, giving you the tools to recreate the whole thing over again, or better yet, to create your own ideas from scratch. It's not perfect - the controls could be tighter & the editor isn't quite as robust as you might hope - but what's there is nothing short of astounding. If you own a PS3, you cannot miss this. If you don't, this is the reason to get one.

IGN Preview "The team even revealed that users can find and discover new parts to build more intricate levels as they go along and that users will be able to share stages with other players globally via a worldwide distribution system that's sortable by ratings and popularity, offers user comments for each map, and plenty more."

"What we're trying to do with LittleBigPlanet is almost iTunes meets eBay in the sense that once an individual or a developer has qualified by producing certain levels or certain add-ons, they will then be able in the future to exchange these and make money out of them," Reeves notes.

LBP: 1UP Review A+

1UP - October 27, 2008

Little Big Planet examines the very nature of games -- the dialogue between creators and players and the relationships possible between them. Yes, it's the most charming game that I've ever played, and it's one of the most enjoyable. But the real beauty of LBP is even less tangible: creative empowerment at its finest and an unparalleled motivator to want to create.
