Alisa Boskonovich and Lars Alexanderson join the King of the Iron Fist Tournament 6! Tekken 6 Won't Make It This Year?

It looks like fighting fans may have to wait just a bit longer for Tekken 6 to hit the PS3. Earlier today, the Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion upgrade was announced for the arcade version of Tekken 6. Bloodline Rebellion should add new stages, sound tracks, costumes, characters, and bug fixes to the existing version of Tekken 6. The console version of Tekken 6 will be most likely be delayed to incorporate these new updates, possibly even into 2009.

The film is based on the Namco videogame TEKKEN is a near future "Gladiator" style action film. It tells the story of Jin Kazama, a twenty-something street fighter who embarks on a journey to avenge his mother's death at the hands of The TEKKEN Corporation and its CEO Heihachi Mishima. Jin travels a hero's journey into the heart of TEKKEN city and the Ironfist fighting tournament...

Bandai Namco, the Japanese parent to Namco Bandai, have released new details on the arcade version of Tekken 6, including shots of the monstrous cabinet. The deluxe cabinet, pictured above, will feature four 32" inch monitors with 720p output, and run arcade operators a cool 4.48 million yen

I agree with you Gaara42 this game can sell very well, but only if the PS3 can increase it's install base. I've suggested that this IPO be set lower than the historical averages due to the current weak performance of the PS3.
You only have to look to Virtua Fighter 5 for a good example of another PS3 sequel selling far less than it's predecessor. VF4 shipped 1.7 million copies worldwide according to vgchartz.com, but look what has happened to VF5. That one is struggling to sell just 400,000 units. I believe even 750,000 units for Tekken 6 is not a sure thing. It all depends on the future performance of the PS3.
