xboxfamily.com - December 7, 2007

Submitted by -THE-RAY- (19) at 3:58AM PST on December 8, 2007

Weve heard rumblings throughout the week and have yet to get confirmation, but we hope its true. Two major companies are working together to bring back XSN. More after the jump: XSN was the original sports line for the Xbox brand. The short lived line of sports games ran from 2003 to 2004 with the face of the line being Peyton Manning who was the cover athlete for NFL Fever.

Michael Bay: Microsoft is the Real Problem

blu-ray - December 4, 2007

Submitted by -THE-RAY- (19) at 2:39PM PST on December 4, 2007

Outspoken director Michael Bay has once again posted a note on his website in regards to the format war, this time calling out Microsoft. He pointed out, similar to what many insiders have been saying for a while, that Microsoft was only trying to destroy both formats in order to usher in digital downloads. Mr. Bay called Blu-ray the "superior" format and hinted that Microsoft was behind the now infamous Paramount payoff.

Bungie Actually Leaving Microsoft?

Game Informer - October 2, 2007

Submitted by yamaro (40) at 3:27PM PST on October 2, 2007

Rumors are floating abound that Halo masterminds Bungie will be leaving Microsoft. While the majority of Internet denizens are stating that this could never happen and that it's not true, we've heard the opposite. From a source close to Bungie, Game Informer has learned this rumor has some merit. It looks like with Halo 3, Bungie really is finishing the fight. Our source stated that Bungie is "tired of making Halo, and didn't want to do future Halo games." For an unstated, but significant amount of money, Bungie shareholders bought the studio name back from Microsoft. Our source also revealed that even though Microsoft will retain the rights to Halo, Microsoft also has "the right of first refusal on future games." This means that Microsoft has the first shot at publishing Bungie's future titles.

Need a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate? Are you incredibly trusting of big corporations? Well I have the deal for you, with a new program through Microsoft called the Windows Feedback Program. For the small price of privacy and perhaps some dignity, you can let Microsoft watch your every move for 3 months, in return for some software of your choice.

Live + Gamefly = Downloadable Music Content

CNET - December 7, 2007

Submitted by Bleezy (381) at 3:24AM PST on December 8, 2007

Microsoft has added downloadable music videos from Sony BMG to the Xbox Live Marketplace. Free promotional videos have been available on the platform since its November 2005 launch, but the new iteration adds a pay-to-download option featuring a far greater catalog. (Sounds sort of like part of Microsoft's greater plan to move the world to downloadable content)

Bizarre, Bungie, BioWare gone. What does this mean for MS?

Newsweek - October 15, 2007

Submitted by Joe80 (8) at 5:47PM PST on October 15, 2007

"Three is a trend, or so the saying goes among journalists. So what are we to make of the steady exodus of highly acclaimed developers from the warm embrace of Microsoft Game Studios into the arms of others? We put that question and several others directly to Microsoft immediately following the announcement of Bungie's departure, which resulted in the following exchange."
