According to Pachter: Slow sales of high-definition television hardware in the US is holding back sales of Sony's PlayStation 3, as consumers feel the effects of the economic slowdown.

I saw that earlier and I almost left a comment on GI. Don't buy it personally. I'm sure there are those that will say it's Pachter just covering for his PS3 wins prediction at the beginning of the generation.
I'm not so sure that's the case but I don't see HDTV adoption really hurting the PS3 at this point. HDTV adoption was never going to be quick and a large proportion of potential PS3 customers do not know what HD or Blu-Ray even is. They're put off by the price and the lack of any compelling features/software to justify it. LBP isn't going to drive hardware for that matter either, never was. Blu-Ray will have a very slow transition from DVD.
