Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360)
Gears Of War 2 Not Being Released In Germany, Japan

Kotaku - October 22, 2008

Predictable. And in more ways than one. According to Epic, Gears of War 2 won't be seeing a release in either Germany or Japan, thanks to the game's level of violence and gore. Seeing as the first one wasn't released in Germany, that's no surprise. But Japan?

Wii Fit (Wii)
Wii Fit on Track to Outsell GTA:IV This Year

GigaOM - October 22, 2008

Submitted by deftangel (34) at 5:55AM PST on October 22, 2008

With 8.7m units sold worldwide, Wii Fit has already grossed far more money than GTA IV. Nintendo’s exercise game continues selling about 225k units a week for the last couple of months. At that rate, Wii Fit will outsell GTA IV in absolute units before the end of 2008. Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter said; “Wii Fit is attaching at around a 30pc rate,” via e-mail, “so I suppose if that continues, it will outsell GTA.”

Sony Has "No Plans" To Fix New PSP Display...

Kotaku - October 21, 2008

New PSP, new problems. The recently released PSP-3000 does get rid of the PSP-2000's ghosting issues, but has issues all its own: On the official PlayStation forums, PSP-3000 owners are bringing word that the new PlayStation Portable suffers from scanlines and icky interlacing defects during video playback and gaming. One forum member writes, "I am not happy about my 'upgrade'." In an official statement, Sony says this is no accident.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles (PS3)
Eurogamer Review 8/10

Eurogamer.net - October 20, 2008

Submitted by NightWolf (83) at 1:32PM PST on October 21, 2008

"From time to time, it will get the better of you, and at that point it's not about difficulty so much as accumulated failure, a burden Midnight Club: Los Angeles forces you to carry, and one that's tough to bear for all the game's other successes. Tolerate the lashing of agony that accompanies every one of these moments, though, and this is fast, brutal, ingenious racing drama, dragging you into the screen every bit as thoroughly as Burnout Paradise."

Far Cry 2 (Xbox 360)
Eurogamer Review 8/10

Eurogamer.net - October 21, 2008

Submitted by NightWolf (83) at 1:28PM PST on October 21, 2008

"Far Cry 2 is unforgettable rather than perfect, then; brilliant, frustrating, sombre and comical, it offers freedom within extremely curtailed limits, and strives to treat its players like adults. In the end it remains, true to its source material, a game that was born to struggle with itself."
