Resident Evil 5 is the next addition to the Resident Evil series. The game will be a sequel to the main Resident Evil story, rather than a sequel to the Resident Evil 4 side-story. Resident Evil 5 continues the use of Resident Evil 4s faster game play in open areas. Enemies will run quickly, as opposed to the slow, stumbling zombies in the early games of the series. The enemies appear to be a cross between the Ganados, parasite controlled humans that will talk to each other featured in Resident Evil 4, and zombies, blood-thirsty but dumb undead featured in the earlier series.

The games setting is a hot, desert region. Heat will play a role in your ability to shoot accurately so you will have to find shade. The game should offer more interactive use of the environment.

Resident Evil 5 is expected for worldwide release in 2008.

What's more incredible is that Resident Evil 5 has beaten launch day sales of Resident Evil 4. IGN Review 9.0/10

IGN - March 6, 2009

Submitted by Joe80 (3) at 4:58PM PST on March 6, 2009

"Capcom has broken away from many survival horror conventions it pioneered. The creepy suspense of earlier games has been replaced with action-packed intensity that will instantly appeal to some & disappoint others. As an action game, RE5 is a success, there’s a wealth of replayability through item collection, upgrades, score chasing & unlockable Mercenaries mode. But this is no gentle nudge to the formula of previous RE games; it’s an evolution. If you can accept that, you just might love RE5."

RE5: No shooting while running

TalkPlaystation - July 21, 2008

Submitted by oznerol (66) at 7:31AM PST on July 21, 2008

TalkPlayStation.com writes:"From what we've seen in the trailers and videos from E3, you can't shoot while running in Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 4 has this same problem and quite a lot of people complained about it. The stop and shoot mechanic is back. We contacted Capcom regarding this issue and they sent a quick response back"
