"I can't say much about it...looking at what direction that team goes with it, has been to make really good use of the controller. What interests me about the Wii is that in some sense you have a much higher bandwith controller than you have with any other console or even a PC...it should really feel like I'm puppeteering this creature very directly, as opposed to I'm just indirectly controlling with a few buttons here and there."

Will Wright himself announced in an interview that they're working on Spore for the Wii. During the interview Will said he feels that the Wii is the only "next-gen" console and is the only console he is interested in playing. No details were given on the game, but several aspects of the Wii (pointer functionality, always-on online connection) would work well with what we've seen for the PC version.

"Today it was announced that Spore, Maxis' highly anticipated evolution simulator, will release this September 7th on PC, Mac, Nintendo DS, and mobile platforms. But what about Wii? We got a chance to ask Spore's Executive Producer Lucy Bradshaw. Bradshaw: 'I know we made mention of the fact that we're exploring other platforms, and we'll certainly be doing that. We don't have any details for you right now on any of that.' "
