The game will star Batman fighting crime in Gotham City. Characters on screen each have individual animations and both Batman and Robin have their original TV show dressing style. There will 36 levels in the game (18 heroes and 18 villains). After you play through the level from the heroes' perspective you will unlock the level from the villains' perspective. A harbor level has been shown in a screenshot, featuring vilains Killer Croc, The Scarecrow, and Catwoman. A similar grappling system to the one used in Lego Star Wars II will be used. The style of the game will focus more on the original TV series and comics rather than the new movies. Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin, and Harley Quinn will be some of the playable characters.

"While Lego Batman is being released on a multitude of platforms, Traveller's Tales claims that this is the first Lego game that they've built specifically for next-gen platforms such as Xbox 360 and PS3. The environments are more detailed than those of Lego Star Wars, and they feature nice incidental effects, such as rats running around, and smoke rising from the grates. The game can also be played in two-player co-op across Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network,"

Lego Batman Gains Lego Butler

Where would Batman be without his trusted butler, Alfred Pennyworth? Dead a hundred times over I'd say. Alfred is the human side of Batman, stitching him up when injured, reminding him of his limits, and doing his best to keep his employer grounded when extraordinary situations push him close to the edge - though we probably won't see any of that in Lego Batman.
