I did not expect Mass Effect 2 would impress me as much as it did. Moments after leaving the demonstration, hours before I'd be able to compose my thoughts here, I sent a message to my Twitter page announcing that Mass Effect 2 slammed my jaw to the floor. If Mass Effect was BioWare bringing their A-game, Mass Effect 2's looking like what happens when they bring their AAA-game -- if that makes any sense.

Any saved game that you make from Mass Effect 1 you should be able to carry that same character into to Mass Effect 2 ... You'll be able to take that save game and create a character in Mass Effect 2.

The second installment of BioWare's sci-fi action series finally gets more video love today, and this time it's not telling us that the main character is dead. Instead we notice ... well, we'll just let the above video, "Prelude to E3," speak for itself. Just please stop toying with our fragile emotions, already! We'll have hands-on Mass Effect 2 goodness from E3 soon, where we look forward to "killing someone a thousand times."

I'd been dreading writing up what happened at the last GDC panel I attended, and not because it was boring to sit through. Far from it � BioWare showed off a couple Mass Effect 2 videos with combat and cut scenes; two journalists I admire almost got in a fight...
