@Just_Ben, I don't think you need a source for everything, especially if that is what you are saying is your estimate.
"This game probably has sold 100k units up to this point." This sounds like a personal estimate. In this case there isn't a source involved.
If people short sell the stock just from that, that is fine. If you don't believe the claim, buy the stock back up. That's a market for you. You don't have to trade based on what other people are posting, but other people may find it as a lead for their own trading.
Sorry for the delay. It was in the charts of uk and some other European countries. Wii games tend to have legs. I would put it on 250 -300 copies lifetime, but I'm relatively unsure. I have no personal interest in the stock itself. I don't even have 1 share. It just bothers me that people just posting numbers without given source, territory or something else, and I have to research that post, to see if theres truth in it. I don't think VGC is the worst source you can have, and if somebody post numbers (even from VGC) and lay down a good argument for their conclusion I'm willing to follow. I mean he posted so other short it, making him most likely money.
What I want to say, if you have a case and want to influence others to follow you opinion make a argument, refer your source so others don't need to research or do other things. It will most likely help you much more than just throwing numbers around.
@Gaara42,
I don't think the people that buy the game because it's fun buy new versions. I know people who are still playing 2003, because they don't feel they need to upgrade. I think the people who were going to upgrade didn't, because of the almost universally bad reviews. Which is a better way of saying, "the game sucks so it's not going to sell". : )
Just because a game is bad does not mean it will not sell. Some people might think the game is fun to play and that is all that matters to them, not a boat load of features and layers of depth.
I made a TON of money off of the Tiger Woods future by seeing what estimated numbers VGchartz put up...so don't be so quick to completely ignore them ;)
@Powertrade,
Also, the game sucks, and people know the game sucks. More importantly, I think the only thing that differentiates this from the PS3 and Xbox versions is the lack of the Game Face feature. All the things that make 08 "great" are absent from the Wii version. Plus, the game sucks. But I think I mentioned that. :|
@Just_Ben, heh, I also assume the argument would lose credibility instantly if linking to VGChartz. Better to not say anything about source if that's your source! =P Though for all you know, it could be a personal estimate, which would be more credible.
@Just_Ben, is there any demand for a Tiger Woods golf game outside the US? I assume its just applying the general rule, 3x first month sales. Tiger Woods is at 6 weeks right? Its just multiplication.
